Accessibility Statement
WasteZero London is committed to making our website and service accessible to as many people as possible. This statement sets out what we do, where we are still improving, and how to contact us about accessibility.
Last updated: 10/28/2026
This accessibility statement applies to the WasteZero London website operated by WASTEZERO LTD. We want everyone who visits the site or contacts us for service to be able to do so comfortably, including people with visual, hearing, motor, cognitive, or neurodivergent access needs.
1. Compliance Status
The website is designed with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 in mind, targeting Level AA as a minimum standard. This includes consideration of the following:
- Perceivable: text alternatives for non-text content, sufficient contrast between foreground and background, resizable text, and content that can be presented in different ways without losing information.
- Operable: all functionality available by keyboard, enough time to read and use content, content that does not cause seizures, and navigable pages with clear headings, link text, and landmarks.
- Understandable: readable and predictable content, consistent navigation and wording, and form fields that are clearly labelled and provide helpful error messages.
- Robust: compatibility with popular browsers, screen readers, and assistive technologies through the use of semantic HTML and appropriate ARIA where native elements are insufficient.
2. What Works Well Today
- Semantic headings, landmarks, and page titles across the main website pages.
- Text that scales without breaking layout at common browser zoom levels.
- Keyboard-accessible navigation, form inputs, and interactive controls.
- Decorative images are marked decorative; informative images are given meaningful alt text.
- Colours are chosen so that actionable elements are not identified by colour alone.
- Main CTA buttons use high-contrast yellow on primary, matching the rest of the visual system.
3. Known Areas We Are Improving
We are aware of the following areas where the site may currently fall short of WCAG 2.1 AA for some users. These are on our improvement list and are being addressed as part of our next site updates:
- Some interactive map components may be difficult to operate with a keyboard only. Telephone and quote-form alternatives are always offered on the same page for users who cannot use the map.
- Third-party content embedded from platforms such as YouTube, review widgets, or booking widgets is controlled by each provider and may not always meet our preferred accessibility standard.
- A small number of legacy pages from earlier site versions may have inconsistent heading order or insufficient alt text on older photography — we are remediating these in batches.
- Very long content pages may benefit from additional skip links and section navigation; we are adding these progressively.
4. Accessing Our Service by Phone or Email
If any part of the website is difficult for you to use, you can always book, quote, or contact us through the accessible channels below during Mon - Fri: 07:00 - 20:00 and Sat - Sun: 08:00 - 18:00:
- Telephone: 07349766766 — calls are answered directly by a member of the team during working hours. You can send photos of the waste by WhatsApp to the same number if that is easier for you.
- Email: quotes@wastezero.co.uk — we typically respond within minutes during working hours.
- Contact form: the contact page form is labelled, keyboard-accessible, and accepts free-text queries of any length.
If you need us to adjust how we communicate with you — for example by using plain language summaries, capitalised text, slower speech, a specific time of day, or a particular format — let us know and we will do everything reasonably practicable to accommodate your request.
5. Accessible Service on Site
If you have access needs that may affect how the collection team interacts with you at the property — for example if you are Deaf or hard of hearing, have mobility needs, a learning disability, a long-term condition, or communication preferences that the team should be aware of — please mention this when booking. We will:
- Add the note to the job briefing so the team lead sees it before arrival.
- Confirm any agreed arrangements, such as a specific ringing pattern, text-on-arrival instead of knocking, or a named person to speak to.
- Allow reasonable extra time at the address where the job or conversation may need to happen more slowly.
6. Reporting Accessibility Problems
We welcome feedback about accessibility on this website. If you encounter a barrier, have a suggestion, or need help completing a task because of an accessibility issue, please tell us. You can reach the team by:
- Emailing quotes@wastezero.co.uk with the subject "Accessibility Feedback".
- Calling 07349766766.
- Writing to us at: 21 Letterstone Road, Fulham, SW6 7BS
When you contact us, please include the page or feature in question, the device and browser you were using, the assistive technology (if any), and a short description of the issue. We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within one working day and resolve or reply substantively within 10 working days.
7. Enforcement Procedure
In the UK, the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) and the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (ECNI) are responsible for enforcing the accessibility requirements that apply to public sector bodies' websites and mobile apps. This statement is provided voluntarily by WASTEZERO LTD as a private-sector service provider. If you believe we have discriminated against you on the grounds of disability in the provision of our services, you are also free to pursue the matter through the relevant equality bodies or the courts.
8. Review of This Statement
This accessibility statement is reviewed at least once per year, or sooner if we receive significant feedback, introduce major new site features, or change the underlying technology stack. The date of the last review appears at the top of the page.
